Job Profile
- Design customised robotic and semi automated assembly lines and warehouseautomation systems
- Concept and detailed design, including calculations and sizing of key subsystems
- Design machine components and fixtures based on calculations
- Select third party components – Conveyors, Robots, Motors, Sensors, Actuators,Bearings, Couplings, Ball Screws.
- Select parts and tolerances based on application, cost and manufacturability
- Detailed design of parts, tools, fixtures
Desired Profile
- 2-4 years of experience in design of Special Purpose Machines/ Packaging systems/warehouse automation systems/ robotic handling systems
- Experience in assembly part design using Solidworks (not only sheet metal / fixtures)
- Ability to perform first principles based calculations for design of typical machinecomponents – (Eg Plate Deflection, Stress on pins, Torsion of shafts)
- Familiar with selection criteria for of machine elements; (Eg Bearing is selected usingstatic and dynamic load, speed and life)
- Exposure to engineering materials and effects of choosing materials for differentapplications
- Aware of conventional and special manufacturing processes and design formanufacturability
- Worked with robotics for gripping, material handling applications
- Exposed to a variety of commercial sensors, different type of motors
- Familiar with pneumatic/hydraulic system components and circuits
- Capable of using design data book/internet resources to select machine elements
